Terrific Texans
Throughout the week our learners at TCE are working hard at going above and beyond! When any teacher catches them standing out in a positive way they are awarded a Terrific Texan. At the end of the week, there is a school-wide drawing and 3 winners are chosen from each grade level. Congratulations to our Terrific Texas this week!
Thanksgiving Baskets
Dear Parents/Guardians,
St. Ann’s Catholic Parish is once again sponsoring Thanksgiving basket deliveries (or a pickup option at St Ann’s Church if you prefer). This program provides families in need with a complete Thanksgiving dinner for the entire family. The baskets will be delivered to your home the weekend before Thanksgiving, so it is important that an adult representing the family be at the home between the hours of Noon and 4PM on Sunday, November 19th, 2023. The deadline to sign up for a basket is October 20th, 2023.
Please completely fill out the following form by clicking this link: 2023 St. Ann's Thanksgiving Baskets. You may contact Nurse Crenshaw with any questions at kcrenshaw@coppellisd.com or 214-496-7816.

What we are learning?
Math Workshop - In Math, learners will review all about place value to 120; looking at composing/decomposing numbers, representing numbers in standard, expanded, and word forms, and comparing and ordering numbers. Additionally, learners will use skip counting to determine the value of a collection of coins up to one dollar. Lastly, learners will use the cent symbol, dollar sign, and decimal point to name the value of a collection of coins.
Reading Workshop - In Reading, learners will study, notice details, and question nonfiction texts. In Phonics they will identify consonants across words and read multisyllabic words.
Don’t forget your library books! Each Thursday we go to the library during our reading rotation. Make sure to bring your books back so you can return and check out new books each week!
Writing Workshop - In writing, learners will begin their unit on nonfiction writing. Learners will begin to plan and write their nonfiction books.
Social Studies - In Social Studies, learners will compare the roles of public officials, including mayor, governor, and president.
Science - In Science, learners will make predictions about the way an object will move based on its physical properties.
