What are we learning?

Math: In math this week, learners will begin to compose (when a number is being put together) and decompose (breaking down) numbers to 100.

Reading: In reading workshop this week, learners will continue to set up expectations and practice routines, such as getting materials ready, focusing on reading, and finding a good seat. They will also review how to choose a Just Right book, and how to know the difference between real and fake reading. In writing workshop, learners will build their writing muscles, and increase stamina.

Science: In science, we have identified what a scientist is, explored what different scientists do and the tools they use each day. We will begin studying matter and learners will explore how physical properties and those properties determine how it is described, classified, changed, and used.

Social Studies: In social studies this week, we will continue to establish our classroom communities and learn about our peers (community members).
