Want to hear more than just "fine" when you ask how your child's day went? Try asking some of these fun and specific questions inspired by what we did this week:
- Can you explain how a bar graph or pictograph works?
- What kind of data did you collect this week?
- If you could make your own graph about anything, what would you graph and why?
- How do you know if a book is a “good fit” for you?
- What’s the best book you picked from your book bin this week? Why did you like it?
- Can you show me how to do the "5 Finger Rule" for picking books?
- What is your reading goal this year?
- What did you write or draw in your reading or writing journal today?
- What does it mean to be a good citizen at school or online?
- What was one way you showed kindness or responsibility this week?
- What was something fun or silly that happened at school this week?
- What was something hard this week? How did you handle it?
We encourage you to pick one or two questions each evening to keep the conversation fresh and ongoing. It’s a great way to reinforce learning and build excitement for the school year ahead!
