Terrific Texans

Throughout the week our learners at TCE are working hard at going above and beyond! When any teacher catches them standing out in a positive way they are awarded a Terrific Texan. At the end of the week, there is a school-wide drawing and 3 winners are chosen from each grade level.

Congratulations to our Terrific Texans this week:

iPad Reminders

We use our iPads at some point each day as an important learning tool in the classroom. Please help us in making sure that your child's iPad is charged each night to 100%! We understand that life happens; if your child does not charge their iPad, please send their charge with them to school. We do not have additional chargers in the classroom.

Yearbooks for Sale
Our yearbook sale is now open! Each year we have a Town Center Yearbook that highlights photos from every class, school events, and staff. It is a great item to look back on memories from the year, and we even have a yearbook signing party in May. If you want to purchase a yearbook, please see the graphic below for the different options. As a reminder, the TCE Yearbook cost WAS NOT included in the TCE Trail Pass. If you would like a yearbook for your child(ren), purchase it using the website link below.

Our yearbook committee would also love your help submitting photos for the yearbook. As you attend campus events, if you have any photos you would like to share, see below for information on uploading them to our committee.

What are we learning?

Math Workshop - In Math, learners will determine the number that is 10 or 100 more or 10 or 100 less than a given number up to 1,200. Learners will also represent whole numbers as distances from any given point on a number line. Learners will explain to a classmate how they decide where to place a given point on a number line.

Reading Workshop - In Reading, learners will demonstrate understanding by responding to the text. They will also focus on key facts vs. nonessential information using the mentor text Martin Luther King, Jr.

Don’t forget your library books! Each Thursday we go to the library to read. Make sure to bring your books back so you can return and check out new books each week!

Writing Workshop- In writing, learners will write poems using different structures.

Social Studies- In Social Studies, learners will understand the function of a map, how to read and use a map, and how to draw a map.

Science - In Science, learners will continue to measure, record, and graph weather information regarding temperature using the appropriate tools.
