Veterans Day
Our school would love to acknowledge and celebrate the veterans in your lives! If you have a family member or friend who is a veteran please email a picture to jmartin@coppellisd.com by noon on Wednesday, November 10th. In lieu of our traditional ceremony, our Cub Scouts from Pack 850 will greet our learners in the morning and help present our morning announcements. Our morning announcements can be accessed using our KTEX YouTube Channel. Click here to access.
Weather Reminders
With fall/winter temperatures approaching, we want to share some reminders regarding recess. We enjoy recess daily, weather permitting the temperature is above freezing or it isn't raining. Please send appropriate jackets, sweatshirts, coats labeled with your child or family's name. Layers are always a great idea for fluctuating temperatures, as it's cool in the mornings and warms up in the afternoons. The temperature also fluctuates in the classroom throughout the day and a light sweatshirt or jacket is always helpful.
Math - DreamBox and Reflex Math
In math, we use two apps to supplement our learning! On Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays in class, we use Reflex Math for approximately 15 minutes to work on our math fact fluency. On Tuesdays and Thursdays, we work on DreamBox for approximately 15-20 minutes in class. Our goal each week is to complete 5 DreamBox lessons. This week, all of our learners who completed our goal of 5 DreamBox lessons earned no shoes pass! (see pictures below) Your child is welcome to work towards their goal of 5 lessons a week on DreamBox at home. Additionally, if your child is absent, we'd love your help in having them complete that day's app for about 15-20 minutes at home.
