August 30th - September 3rd

We are having such a fun time in second grade making new friends and learning new things! If you ever have any questions, please don't hesitate to reach out to us. Email is the best way to get a hold of us. If it's a general question, please email your homeroom teacher. If it's a question specific to an academic area, please email the teacher that teaches that subject. We are so excited to partner with you in your child's learning.

iPads/Headphones

Thank you for helping us get iPads to school this week! We had a successful first few uses of our school iPads for learning this week. We worked to update our CISD passwords for each of your children's iPads on Friday. The passcode to open the iPad for ALL second graders is 2122. Please make sure that your child is not changing this passcode to get in. If you have not done so already, please send a pair of headphones for your child as soon as possible. We will be using headphones in class on a regular basis; therefore it is very important that all students have a pair of over-the-ear headphones or earbuds to keep at school.

Curriculum Night

Second grade will have curriculum night on Thursday, September 2nd at 5:00 pm. This is a virtual event that will be hosted on Zoom. The second grade teachers will send out the zoom link Wednesday afternoon. If you have not received communication with the zoom link by 10am on Thursday morning reach out to your homeroom teacher. If you are unable to attend or have more than one child to attend at the same time, the zoom will be recorded and shared with our Friday communication on September 3rd.

Picture Day

All face-to-face learners will participate in picture day on Wednesday, September 1st. If you would like to order pictures, please click here and use the ID: EVTQN689C.

Snacks

2nd grade will have a short snack time each day, while we work, to keep our brains and bodies fueled for learning. In order to ensure a safe classroom environment for everyone, we ask that you please DO NOT send any snacks that contain peanuts/tree nuts. Please send a small, healthy snack (ex: fruit, cereal, crackers, goldfish, applesauce pouch, etc.) each day that does not require a fork or spoon to eat. Additionally, please send a water bottle with a sport (no spill) top daily.
