Spring ConferencesIt is hard to believe that we are already in our last nine weeks of the school year. Time has flown by so quickly with these amazing learners! Spring conferences are optional and we do not have a designated conference day like in prior years but we are happy to make time to answer any questions or concerns you may have. You recently received your child's third nine weeks report card, which provided you with an update on how your child is doing in class. If you would like to schedule an optional spring conference, either by phone or zoom, please email your child's homeroom teacher. What are we learning?
Math: In math, learners will work on partitioning objects into equal parts and naming the parts using words, including halves, fourths, and eighths.
Language Arts: In Reading Workshop, we will begin a novel study on "Chocolate Fever" for a fun "tie-in" with our Social Studies unit.
In Writing Workshop this week, learners will continue to work on narrative writing, making it stronger by adding dialogue, vivid verbs, and descriptive adjectives. In Grammar, we will be working on the use of dialogue in sentences. In Handwriting, we will be learning new letters in cursive writing.
Science: In science, learners will connect organisms in a similar habitat through a food chain.
Social Studies: In Social Studies learners will continue our study on saving and spending. We will be creating a product, discussing it, and writing about it.
