February Class Parties RESCHEDULED
Our campus has made the decision to move our second party of the year to May instead of the usual February Valentine's Day Party. We will still do some type of activity for the holiday, however, we will not have our usual full party or exchanged paper valentines/goodies. We look forward to planning the end of the year party with our room parents.

Reminder: A note from our counselor!
During the month of February, our counselor will teach all learners about personal safety using the "Play it Safe" program. "Play it Safe" is a child abuse awareness and prevention program for children. It teaches children to protect themselves by recognizing, reacting to, and reporting potentially dangerous situations, including unsafe and confusing touches.

For more information, please visit the "Play it Safe" website. All curriculum materials are available for your viewing during the month of January. Also, feel free to contact our counselor, Kelly Matlock, at kmatlock@coppellisd.com if you have any questions.

Free Breakfast and Lunch
The Child Nutrition Department is happy to announce that free meals for all in-person elementary students and free bundle meals for virtual learners have been extended through the rest of the 2020-2021 school year. In-person learners are able to go through the cafeteria line as usual and will not be charged for meals (snack food and dessert such as ice cream are available for an additional cost). We are still asking that virtual learners sign up for bundle meals via the Bundle Meal Signup Form to help give an accurate count each week.

Town Center Yearbooks

Our 2020-2021 Town Center Yearbook is now available for purchase. The cost is $25, and they will arrive in the spring. Click here to place your order. **Please note that the yearbook cost is NOT included in the TCE Trail Pass.

What are we learning?

Math: In math, learners will compose and decompose numbers up to 1,200 in more than one way.

Language Arts: In Reading Workshop, learners will pay attention to figurative language in our stories.  Please remember to keep up with your weekly iStation requirement and your Reading Logs!

In Writing Workshop learners will continue our unit on Poetry. Learners will look at how repetition and comparison can affect a poem, as well as begin to look at different structures of poems.

Science: In science, learners will identify and compare properties of freshwater and saltwater and name some practical ways to conserve water.

Social Studies: In Social Studies we will continue our unit on Maps. Learners will continue working on a Keynote presentation throughout the week as they construct knowledge of maps and globes.
