CISD Family Survey-Deadline Extended
CISD is currently surveying our families in order to gain insight into your perception of our schools and district effectiveness. This survey shouldn't take more than a few minutes to complete and will be a valuable source of information for us, as we work to make our schools and our district the best they can be. You may complete the survey online between now and November 22nd, using a computer, tablet or smartphone. To take the survey, please visit http://surveys.panoramaed.com, then select your child(ren)'s school. If you have multiple children in CISD, we ask that you take the survey for each school your child attends.

Thanksgiving STEM Recycling
The week of November 18th-22nd we will be doing a STEM design challenge. We are in need of the following recycled items. If you have any of the items below in your recycle bin at home, we would love to take them off your hands.
-empty tissue boxes
-empty pizza boxes

Town Center Ceremony to Honor Veterans
Please plan to join us Monday, November 11th in the TCE Gyn at 8:00 AM to help us honor our Town Center families and friends who are veterans. We'd like to extend the invitation to any veterans that are able to attend. It's a small way for us to say thank you. The program will be approximately thirty minutes, and we will have refreshments afterward for our special guests and their families.

We are also putting together a digital photo display this year, so if possible, please send in a photo of your special veteran, even if they are not able to attend the ceremony. We will collect these through Thursday, November 7th.

If you know of a veteran that is able to attend our November 11th ceremony or have a photo you would like to be included in our display, please email Ms. Martin at jmartin@coppellisd.com.
Big picture

What are we learning?

Math: In math this week, learners will apply our knowledge and strategies from two-digit subtraction to three-digit numbers and solve word problems by subtraction.

Language Arts: In reading, learners will continue reading nonfiction texts and dig deeper into finding topics and subtopics in their books. In writing, learners will edit their informational writing, learn from mentor texts, and write for specific audiences in mind. Instead of phonics this week, we will introduce Grammar Talks with a focus on capitalization.

Science: In science, learners will trace the changes in the position of an object over time such as a cup rolling on the floor and a car rolling down a ramp.

Social Studies: In social studies, learners will continue to explore how science and technology have improved the way our basic needs are met.
