Welcome second-grade families! Thank you for taking the time to read our second-grade blog. Make sure you are checking weekly for calendar updates, what we are a learning and announcements for second grade!

What are we learning?

Math: In math this week, learners will use manipulatives to represent numbers to 100 in different ways. We will focus on determining whether a number is even or odd using manipulatives and generating numbers that are 10 more/less than a given a number using a 100's chart.

Reading: In reading and writing this week, we will launch our workshops! We will discuss workshop expectations, select a "good fit" book, and discuss where authors get ideas of writing. We will also meet our new writing partners and learn how to help each other when we are working in workshop.

Science: In science this week, we will start to measure, test, and record physical properties of matter, including temperature, mass, magnetism, and the ability to sink or float.
