Parent/Teacher Conferences
This upcoming week we will be sending out a Zoom conference sign-up for parent-teacher conferences. Please be on the lookout this week for a sign-up from your child's homeroom teacher. The district has set aside October 8th as a designated day for conferences. Due to the number of second-graders, we will have additional days and times leading up to the 8th to accommodate all of our second-grade families. Our parent conferences are a great opportunity for you to hear more in-depth about your child's progress and beginning of the year data as well as ways to partner to support your child at home. More information coming this week!

What we are learning?
Math - In math, we will say a number that is greater than or less than a given number up to 100. We will use place value to compare and order whole numbers up to 100 using comparative language, numbers and the symbols >, <, or =.
Reading- In reading, learners will continue looking at strategies that help with tricky words as our books become more difficult. We will also be looking at some mentor texts and noticing masterful writing.
Writing/Grammar- In writing, we will begin editing and revising one of our small moment stories.
Social Studies- In social studies, learners will take their research and begin creating their historical figures presentations to conclude our unit.
Science - In science, we will use different objects combined together for a specific purpose. We will justify the selection of those materials based on their physical properties.
