What we are learning?

Math Workshop - In Math, learners will locate the position of a given whole number on an open number line and name a whole number that corresponds to a specific point on a number line. Learners will also use an understanding of place value to say a number that is 10 more or 10 less than a given number up to 100.

Reading Workshop - In Reading, learners will continue to "attack" tricky words by using strategies to solve them such as picture clues, sounding out, using knowledge of the story, or looking for words inside of the tricky word. They will also continue building reading stamina. Our goal is 20 minutes each day of uninterrupted, independent reading.

Note: Our library day is on Thursday each week. Please be sure to return your child's books so that they can check out new ones!

Writing Workshop- In writing, learners will continue personal narratives with strong introductions. They will also edit and revise to bring their stories to life by adding dialogue, onomatopoeia, thoughts, and feelings. In Phonics learners will explore homophones.

Social Studies- In Social Studies, learners will continue their research of historical Americans. Learners are researching and sharing how their historical figures help shape the community, state, and nation.

Science - In Science, learners will be given a problem, including physical objects, and designing a solution that involves an experiment to test it.
